Rust College is a historically black liberal arts college located in Holly Springs, which is a city in the state of Mississippi, USA, serving as the county seat of Marshall County, with nearly 8000 people, living within its limits, according to the 2000 census.
Rust was established in 1866 and it is one of only ten historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), founded before 1868, still to be in operation. It is also the second-oldest private college in the state and it is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It currently offers its students degree programs in sixteen areas of study, according to the Princeton Review, its most popular majors being biology, general studies, business administration, and computer science.
Rust's athletic teams are known as the Bearcats and they compete in NCAA Division III.
